Working as an Assistant Director or AD meant having a job in the field of Cinema. It didn’t excite me a bit after the first feature gig. As much as I love Cinema it didn’t motivate me to ‘have a job’ in it. Brushing shoulders with actors and models, taking orders from directors or basking in the false glory in front of the non-film people weren’t exactly what I was looking for. I didn’t want to be on the periphery of Cinema, I wanted to ‘create’ it.
